The Best Arguments end in Confession

My best friend of ten years knocked on my door, tears running down his face. I looked at him with concerned eyes before inviting him in, gesturing to the couch.

"Come in, have a seat," I said, not sure of what to do next. He sat down in silence and wiped the tears off his face. I took a deep breath. "I thought you were going out with your girlfriend tonight?" I asked carefully.

"I did. That's the problem," he said with a shaky voice. I sighed and rolled my eyes slightly. It wasn't a gesture of annoyance at him but annoyance towards her.

"Why do you love her if all she does is hurt you?!" I asked harshl

"Hey…" I heard the moon guardian's voice as she walked right beside me. I looked at her, ready to hear her question, but I did not slow my pace. If it was possible… these woods seemed even darker and more threatening than before. I wanted to get out of this forest as fast as possible.

"Yes?" I finally replied.

"Is it just me, or is my hair glowing?" The guardian was holding a strand of her long hair, staring at it while trying to keep up with me and the group as we quickly made our way to the end of the forest. Nix, Kat, and Nes stopped in surprise and looked back at her.
